Go with the classic Hooter Hider from Bebe Au Lait. They come in really pretty, current fabrics, and they have this flexible piece of plastic that holds the fabric away from the baby's face while you nurse. I kept this in my diaper bag, and it worked up until Adelaide realized she could pull it away and peer at the world (maybe 7 mo.).
